okay, my quarterly post! haha

Mrs. Leah took me down my first time at pump it up!!
Then I got brave!!

Margot loves playing Doctor with Daddy, but will NEVER let the Ped. do this!!

We've been super busy around here...We had Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and awaiting baby boy Risner!
Margot is growing so much and I can hardly believe she will be two in the spring. It makes me really sad that shes not my baby anymore. She is talking like crazy and is officially obsessed with Dora the Explorer. I guess the Spanish major in me should be glad, but I think the TV watcher in me and her daddy has set in! (Especially when it's 20 degrees outside)...
My belly is huge and I still have 11 weeks to go, but I don't have a pic to post, sorry...i'll work on that. We said we'd be better about belly photos with this baby and that hasn't happened! I'm starting to get a little nervous about having two children! I think it will be challenging, fun, exhausting, exciting, and a huge adjustment, but nonetheless well worth the effort! I hope Margot adjusts well to having a baby brother before she "accidentally" suffocates him! jk, she likes babies, just not when I'm holding them. here's some pics to satisfy you for the time being!

I know, I know...world's worst blogger!!

My 14 week belly...obviously bigger now and
they weren't lying when they said the second shows
waaaaaaaaaaaay sooner!
Samford Soccer Alumni (love these girls)
Margot got a bike seat to ride with daddy and LOVES it!
SOOOOOOOOOOOO big!

Well, I guess a lot has happened since I last blogged since it's been like 2 months! ha, but I will just touch on the important stuff!
We are going to be welcoming another Risner!! I am due April 3rd and we find out what we're having on Nov. 12th! I can't wait. We are a little scared of having a boy, but we trust in the Lord and if He thinks we can handle it, I guess we will! ha
I am almost 18 weeks! Yay!! Just pray for HEALTHY!!!
Margot is seriously talking like it's her job! She says like full sentences...they obviously don't make any sense at all, but we are looking forward to the day when it just clicks and she says something real! She is 18 months old now and I CANNOT believe how fast it has gone by! I know right, so cliche! But it is soooooooooo true! I hate it! I just want to press pause and not let her grow up anymore! David agrees with me! We are really enjoying her every day and we look forward to her playing with her little bro/sis soon too!! So fun!
So, here are some pics! Sorry, my like if somewhat boring!

Road Trips

I love Uncle Locke!!
Cousins!!
Is she not the cutest thing you've ever seen???
Best Friends!! Reagan and Margot!
Luke did not want to eat that cupcake!!
This past week has been crazy! The last weekend of July/first of August, we went up to visit our family after not being there in 3 months. Our nephew Luke was turning one so we got to go to his b'day party and afterwards, we drove up to see our dearest friends in Indy! It was so fun watching Margot play with Reagan. This is such a fun age and they have grown up together so far and we just hope they will be friends for life! (If their parents have anything to do with it they will be forced! haha)
David flew back and went to work for the week and I drove back with Margot on Tuesday. A friend of ours let us borrow her dvd player for the car and we thought it would help Margot with the trip...boy were we wrong! She is still just not into tv...i guess i should be thankful, but in the car on long trips it would be nice if she'd just watch a cartoon!
Then Thursday we got back in the car to head to NC to visit with David's college buddies and go to one of his friends weddings. FYI, If you have a one year and you want to go enjoy yourself at a wedding, leave her at home with the grandparents!! Margot is just way too busy to sit still for 5 seconds, let along an hour long wedding! We spent the entire wedding in the nursing room tearing it to pieces! I am sure that david's friends without kids are feeling sure they want to wait!! We think she's worth the craziness, but not at weddings! ha
here are a few pics of the events in the last week and a 1/2!!

Thoughts

I love my books lately!

oooooooooooohhh!

So, it's been a few weeks since I blogged and things have remained pretty much the same here in the 'ham. It's been difficult adjusting to a new place and a new lifestyle. Although everyone here is super nice, it's still not "home" yet.
I have been going to a Wednesday morning bible study with CMMA ladies and yesterday we had a guest speaker who was amazing. I seriously felt like she was exactly who I am when she was at this point in her own life. Her husband is a GI doc and she shared her feelings and "monsters under her bed" that she struggle with during residency, fellowship and still to this day. Those "monsters" are the same evils that I continue to struggle with: pride, jealousy, perfection, and measuring up.
I was extremely excited about moving to Alabama, David having an income, and me getting to stay home with Margot and giving her my undivided attention, but it has been much harder than I'd imagined. I had forgotten how intimidating "southern women" are (to me) and how our income was definitely "enough", but somehow not and that spending every moment with a one year old can be extremely isolating and super exhausting! Don't get me wrong, there have been some girls that have really reached out to me and for that I am truly appreciative! But, I just have to keep telling myself that friendships take time...(which we only have one year here and I could go on about that soapbox, but I'll stick to this one for the moment!)
The moral of the story is that no "thing" is ever enough...only the Lord Jesus is enough! I can only fill these voids in my life with Him and until I do that, I will stay jealous, prideful, and unfulfilled. Our speaker left us with a fabulous verse:
"Though the cherry tree doesn't blossom
And the strawberries don't ripen,
Though the apples are worm eaten
and the wheat fields are stunted,
Though the sheep pens are sheepless,
and the cattle barns empty,
I'm singing joyful praise to God.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a dear,
he enables me to go on the heights. "
Habakkuk 3:17-19

On another note, Margot is still AWESOME! here are some pics!
